CREATVITY

  • ARRIVAL!: This was a mini commission through LeftCoast exploring international visitors first and lasting impressions of Blackpool.
  • Soundavan: The ‘SOUNDAVAN’ is a mobile and self sufficient sound system. Utilising the local talents of local Blackpool artists and audio experts we have converted a 1987 Compass – Echo 360/2LS Caravan and turned it in to a very portable DJ Booth with amplified speakers fitted to one of the walls. It offers the possibility for a variety of community engagement opportunities.  The SOUNDAVAN could be used for many different events such as; garden parties, festivals, car boots, summer fetes, fairs, pop-up outdoor cinemas and many more. However the SOUNDAVAN is perfect for providing the soundtrack for any event that is being held in a place where you need something to make your event stand out but have no power. The SOUNDAVAN can provide music for a whole day without the need to be plugged in to any mains power (without a noisy generator in sight). Originally a commission for SpareParts (as part of Fleetwood's Festival of Transport) and funded by LeftCoast.

  • Small Corner of the World Festival: This is a unique boutique festival aiming to deliver a small locally supported intercultural extravaganza in Wyre. With performers and music from Austria, Ireland, Korea, France, UK, Latin America and across Africa the first festival 10th – 12th June 2016 was a noted success. In addition there was food from Jamaica, and stalls selling up-cycled fashions, Nepalese Rock Salt crafts as well as world music CD’s and other global arts and crafts. An international travel photography exhibition engaged the adventurous snappers and several drum workshops delivered with local schools. Plans are already in the pipeline for 2017.

  • Global Outlaws: Grooveslingers and world beat rustlers Wardy and Buzz are fighting the world of mundane to offer a global soundtrack for change.
  • A fish that can: Commissioned sculpture for Thornleigh Hotel (Grange Over Sands)
  • LightCycle: A bike light project to get as many cyclists as possible shining bright for Blackpool Illuminations 'Ride the Lights'. Funded by LeftCoast.
